In today’s age of globalization, employers of all sizes are expanding internationally. Whether you are part of a large multinational, or a mid-market employer with expanding  global operations, the underlying objectives are typically to capitalize on global economies of scale while responding to local market needs. As attracting and retaining talent become increasingly important to carry out those objectives, employers are faced with familiar issues – rising health care cost, ongoing reform, the need for wellness, and competitive compensation – themes often shared in the domestic U.S. market. But addressing these issues country by country without the right tools can be a daunting task.

In our presentation we will discuss how employers review and stay abreast of benefit and compensation data in multiple countries, as well as discuss top trends and issues globally and in in the U.S. As a global consulting firm, Mercer empowers employers with the survey data needed to make decisions on benefits and compensation, both at home and abroad. We will share some trends in key countries around the world, as well as a brief look into the results from our US Benefits Survey of Employer Sponsored Plans.

1.       What are the key issues that employers face as they expand globally?

2.       How do employers review and stay abreast of benefit and compensation data in other countries?

3.       Domestically, what are the top benefit trends?

4.       What strategies are companies employing to control health care costs in the US?
